Using a vacuum storage bag is straightforward, involving three core steps: loading, sealing, and evacuating air. Before use, ensure the items to be stored-such as clothing or bedding-are clean and completely dry; any residual moisture can lead to unpleasant odors or mold growth within the sealed environment.
Next, place the items flat inside the bag, taking care to avoid including sharp or hard objects that could puncture or damage the material. Once loaded, align the zipper tracks and slowly press them together-using either your fingers or the provided sliding clip-to ensure the seal is fully closed and free of trapped fabric or dust; this step is crucial for preventing air leaks later on.
After sealing, open the valve cap and position your vacuum cleaner nozzle or manual pump over the valve opening to extract the air. As the air is removed, the bag will visibly shrink and conform tightly to the contents, achieving the desired compression. Once sufficiently compressed, close the valve and ensure the cap is tightly secured to prevent air from re-entering.
Finally, the compressed bag can be stored flat or stacked; avoid subjecting it to prolonged pressure from sharp objects or repeatedly folding it at the same spot. To reuse the bag, simply open the zipper to let air back in, remove the items, and reorganize the contents as needed.
