Once the vacuuming process is complete, the storage method directly affects the longevity of the compression. It is generally recommended to store the compressed bags in a dry, well-ventilated area-avoiding damp locations like basements or spots near water sources-to minimize the risk of material degradation caused by moisture.
Regarding placement, opt to stack the bags flat or stand them upright; avoid subjecting them to prolonged pressure from sharp objects or heavy loads. Although the vacuum-sealed bags possess a certain degree of compressive strength, sustained uneven pressure can compromise the seal, potentially leading to slow air leakage or the bag expanding back to its original volume.
Additionally, avoid exposure to high temperatures and direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure accelerates the aging of the plastic material, making the bag brittle and causing the sealing strip to lose its elasticity, thereby shortening its lifespan. For long-term storage, periodically inspect the condition of the bags and re-vacuum them promptly if any slight air ingress is detected to ensure optimal storage results.
